Account/Sales Manager
Job Description:
The Account Manager has ownership for managing relationships within GST’s key accounts in identifying new business opportunities and managing existing account growth to achieve defined business goals. Responsible for new business, account penetration and development, and retention within a geographic territory. This sales position will be managing multiple sales and marketing projects with similar deadlines, placing orders, and general client and sales support. Effectively plan and manage assigned accounts to maximize potential and to ensure customer satisfaction and retention. works closely with marketing for the respective carrier business units. The successful candidate is a person who understands the business drivers that are important to wireless operators and can articulate this in a way that forms a strategic vision and tactical plan against which the sales organization can be mobilized. This individual is responsible for direct contact with carriers/customers and suppliers, and must be strong in independent decision making.
Responsibilities
- Work with wireless carriers to develop successful programs to drive sales.
- Develop nationwide territory sales plans and programs.
- Work on the creation of sales programs to drive product sales in individual markets.
- Act as the main contact point for carrier’s national and regional contacts.
- Work closely with GST management to review and update forecast and sell-through information.
- Gain new customers through incorporating all applicable sales stimulation strategies, programs, and other targeting contacts, e.g. cold calling and prospecting.
- Develop and execute national strategy to achieve targets.
- Research products for creative, new ideas.
- Prepare and present professional corporate business proposals and presentations to corporate business executives.
- Take an active role in building the clients’ business, generating new strategies and anticipating and providing suggestions for client’s needs.
- Establish successful relationships with various Clients and vendors.
- Effectively and professionally interface with clients. Manage the sales and customer relationship within defined account to achieve volume and revenue goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills & Experience
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Business or the equivalent in relevant work experience.
- 2 - 3 years of promotional product industry experience or directly related marketing or sales support experience, including project management skills.
- Strong computer skills including a high level of proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
- Industry experience is preferred with proficiency in product knowledge.
